Who I Help
I work with a range of clients age 14+ who have varied ethnic and cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations. The one thing they all do share though, is a set of negative beliefs holding them back. These beliefs typically make us feel unworthy of good things or speak to the shame and defectiveness we feel deep down inside.
From highly successful professionals to stay at home moms to high school and college students–these beliefs impact our ability to form and maintain healthy relationships, communicate our feelings in an effective way, ask for what we want, or enjoy the life we already have. Negative beliefs may present in our lives as: depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, negative body image, anger issues, feeling the need to “control” situations, people-pleasing or caretaking of others, inability to form and maintain relationships, toxic relationship cycles, infidelity, poor boundaries, inability to achieve goals, or lack of professional success, among others.
Some examples of these negative beliefs include:
“I’m not good enough”
“I don’t deserve or I’m unworthy of _______”
“I’m a failure”
“I’m not capable”
“I’m bad or defective”
“I’m too much/too difficult”
“I’m a burden”
“I’m weak or pathetic”
“I’m out of control”

How I Help
What if I said there was a way to take all those negative core beliefs above and drastically reduce their impact on you or even remove them completely? Because there is. I’m trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. EMDR is a world-renowned therapy due to its ability to rapidly reprocess distressing events and beliefs.
While EMDR is a go-to treatment for reprocessing “Big T” trauma events (e.g. war, assaults, abuse, crime victimization), it also processes “little t” trauma events such as attachment issues, emotional neglect, or misattunement in childhood which often leads to the negative core beliefs and dysfunctional behavior patterns that keep us feeling stuck in adulthood. EMDR lets us clear the noise so that you can live the kind of life you actually want. And the best part–it does it rather quickly. Issues that could take years to reprocess with traditional talk therapy alone may take just a few months with EMDR. Yeah… it’s that awesome.
